Security Council

Established in 1946, the United Nations Security Council (SC) is composed of fifteen members, including five permanent members with veto power. The SC bears the primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. It has the authority to impose sanctions, authorize the use of force, and establish peacekeeping missions, addressing the most critical global issues.

Topic 1: Granting the 6th Permanent Veto Right

As the geopolitical landscape evolves, the question arises: is it time to introduce a sixth permanent member with veto power to the Security Council? The decision could redefine global dynamics and provoke intense debate over the qualifications and strategic significance of potential candidates.

Topic 2: Foreign Military Interventions and Privatization of War

Foreign military interventions using external resources, including Private Military and Security Companies (PMSCs), deeply affect civil wars and state sovereignty. This issue requires careful examination and strategies to mitigate its complex moral, legal, and political impacts.
